Members of the OMA Artist Alliance will present their work on the walls of the museum for the first time ever in 2012. This juried exhibit will feature approximately 28 works of art by 26 artists in a variety of media from paintings and sculptures to photography and mixed media. Supporting regional artists is an important part of OMA’s mission and this upcoming exhibition gives the museum the chance to showcase the exceptional talent of artists who have joined the museum as part of this affiliate membership group. This 180 plus membership group fosters a vital bond between the museum, artists and the community. Participating artists include Clay Alexander, Claire-lise Anderegg, Robert Boyd, Michelle Cole, Alessandra Colfi, Margie Darrow, Peter H. Fay, Micaiah Hardison, Gloria Johnson, Mark Jurecki, Lola Juris, Hamid Maleki, Allan Morrow, Tena Navarette, Brigid Parsons, Noreen Ring, Heidi Rufeh, Jiela Rufeh, I.C. Simpson, B. A. Stuber, Michael Summers, Mary Tabar, Mary Villela, Catherine Walters, Steve Wilson and Rita Pacheco.
The Artist Alliance has been active since the founding of the museum in 1995. Coordinator of the Alliance, Bev Stuber, plays an active role in presenting work by artist members’ throughout the community. Exhibits of members artwork has been shown at Jazzercise Corporate offices, the Oceanside Art Gallery, the El Corazon Senior Center and other venues in North County. This group of talented artists creates a sense of synergism among members, learning from each other by sharing talents and artistic ideas.
