of Oceanside Museum of Art with a sparkling evening of gourmet cuisine
and lively dancing. The evening begins with a cocktail reception

Ball highlights like the popular Startini Bar, hosted cocktails,
hors d’oeuvres, and musical entertainment.
Great gifts and dining packages are available to the highest bidder
at the silent auction including exquisite, one-of-a-kind, fine-art
by renowned artists.
The Museum Star Ball is also the occasion to honor members of the

to the success of the museum. Each year the “Medal of Distinction”
is presented at the Ball. This year the museum honors
Paul Dooley, Larry Hatter, and Harry and Mercedes Singh.

OMA Culinary Cinema Series
Film: “Eat, Drink, Man, Woman”
Oscar-winning director Ang Lee portrays the joys and sorrows of
a widowed Chinese master chef and his family living in modern day
Taipei, Taiwan in “Eat, Drink, Man, Woman”. At the start
of the film the chef lives with his three attractive daughters,
all of whom are unattached. As the film progresses, each daughter
meets new men. Stereotypes are broken and the living situation within
the family changes. Throughout the film, each character finds his
or her own way, often surprising the audience. Mouth-watering scenes
of gourmet Chinese cooking are the threads that weave the characters
lives together culminating with their Sunday dinners.
Join us at the museum for this delightful film and a gourmet Chinese
dinner prepared by Chin’s Restaurant executive chef. Dinner
includes egg rolls, sesame chicken, mongolian beef, honey shrimp,
fried rice, buddha’s delight vegetables, dessert & tea.
Cinema Society of San Diego president, Andrew Friedenberg will introduce
the film with background on the actors and director.
Reservations required in advance, limited to 100 guests. Cost is
$60 for OMA members, $75 for non-members.
